Botox has become a popular way to reduce wrinkles on the forehead and neck. Botox (or Botulinum toxin) is a non-surgical injection that temporalily blocks the nerve impulses and paralyzes the muscles that cause the wrinkles. This results in elimination of frown lines, forehead creases or crows near the eyes and will give the skin a smoother look. As botox only affects small areas, most of the other face muscles will act normally giving the face a natural expression.
Botox is a temporary solution. The result of Botox injections last from three to six months after the first injection. However, the results seem to be somewhat cumulative.

Botox is suitable for those with small wrinkles or crows who want a fresher appearance without going through surgery. Studies have pointed out that Botox can also be effective in relieving migraine headaches, sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes.

The injection of Botox is a very safe procedure, but there are some risks involved. When the needle is accidentally placed in the wrong area, the patient could experience drooping or a frozen appearance.
